New Year’s Eve revelers can now get some of their favorite movies on Netflix for just $8.99 a month.
The service is adding films like The Hurt Locker and The Wolf of Wall Street to its library of movies, while other titles including the animated hit Moana will remain on its service for a month, with $6.99 monthly fees.
The pricing model is the same for Netflix’s other subscription streaming services, including Hulu Plus, HBO Go, and Amazon Instant Video.
Netflix’s move to become a streaming video provider, in conjunction with Amazon, will bring Netflix to a more mainstream audience that could help drive its profits.
Netflix is adding movies, television shows, and documentaries to its service in addition to movies and TV shows.
The company has been expanding its library, expanding its content catalog, and introducing new shows and movies every month for a decade.
The announcement comes just a few days after the entertainment giant said it will soon begin rolling out a Netflix-like streaming service.
