The PlayStation 4 will become available in March next year, Sony has announced.
The company is now set to introduce a new gaming console – dubbed the “PlayStation 4” – to its family of entertainment products in its line-ups, including its TV line-out and the PlayStation Camera.
Sony will launch the PlayStation 4 in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as China, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The console is set to go on sale to consumers in Europe in late February next year.
Sony is also launching a new line-of-game peripherals.
Sony’s gaming console line-off, the PlayStation Vita, will come in three different sizes: a $149.99 “standard” model, a $299.99 model and a $399.99 $399 model.
It comes with a built-in webcam, a microSD card slot, an HDMI out, an Ethernet port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Sony also announced that it would be bringing its “Sony” brand of video games to the PlayStation brand.
“Playstation Video Games” will be available on the PlayStation Network in March and in retail stores.
“It will be the best way to experience the world of PlayStation with the very best in games from the creators of games such as Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Dead Rising 3, Far Cry Primal, The Elder Scrolls Online, and more,” Sony said.
It will also be the perfect opportunity for gamers to discover new titles in the PlayStation ecosystem and discover more titles that will be added in the future.
The PS4 will come with a range of high-end gaming systems, including the PS4 Pro, which will come out in 2019, and the PSVR headset.
The PlayStation 4 Pro will be compatible with the PlayStation VR headset.
It will have a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels.
The “Playroom” entertainment center and “Playdek” entertainment wall units are set to be launched in March 2019.
These will be similar to the PS VR “Playtoys”, with the main difference being that the PlayStation Home app will no longer be available.
The Xbox One X console, which is expected to be released later this year, will be sold in Australia and the UK.
It is expected that the console will be priced around $400, which includes a built in Xbox One S console and a wired headset.
